La Recouvrance – Replica aviso schooner, early 19th century.

A goodwill ambassador ship built for the city of Brest from plans dating from 1820.
Length 25 m, beam 6.5 m, draught 3.2 m.
Built in 1991–92 by Guip Shipyard (Brest), launched during the boat festival Brest 1992.
In collaboration with Coprema ship design office.

Bantry Bay Gigs

The Atlantic Challenge, first held in the year 2000, led to the construction of 30 gigs in France. Guip Shipyard has so far built four Bantry Bay gigs, of which two continue to take an active part in international regattas.
Bantry Bay gigs are among the most beautiful rowing and sailing boats ever made and require a well-trained and coordinated crew.
Length 11.62 m, draught 0.31 m, sail area 39 m².
